The new Ducati Multistrada 1200 (MTS1200) - Reviews, Test Reports and Articles by Owners

Review and road tests of the Ducati Multistrada 1200 - MTS1200

The Ducati Multistrada summed up in short and sweet fashion! :-)
By bromike666 31May2010
"So yesterday I'm on my 999r riding through the 200 yard washed out section of road on Big TJ. I'm doing about 10mph, sliding around, trying to avoid the worst of the potholes when all of a sudden my friend Obie blows by me on his Multi 1200s at about 80 mph...
My first thought "f*ck you show-off."
My second thought "if we were on pavem....... Nope he's got more HP."
My third thought "suspension on my 999r is bett...... Nope"
My fourth thought "in the turns I'd......... Nope"
I finally settled on "my Termi kit exhaust note kicks his ass"
All in all a pretty humiliating moment"

Multistrada 1200 review by an ex 'sportsbike' rider! (Aug 2011)
...previous bikes include a '98 748 SPS back in 2001, my previous ride was a '08 Fireblade prior to the 999 that was sold for the MTS1200.

Had some fun on the Multi today, with spectacular scenery (pics!) (Apr2011)
Did the longest ride yet today (23Apr2011) on the Multi. Weather was really nice this afternoon – right around 60 degrees and beautifully sunny. I decided to do one of our regional favorites – the "Lowman Loop," which is 150 miles of twisty goodness through the mountains nearby...

Multistrada 1200 Brands Hatch Indy circuit track day

17Jun2010 member 'GS Rod' - Did my first track day on the Multi yesterday at Brands Indy. All I can say is.....what a fantastic bike !
Set it to Sport (of course) solo with luggage. The handling was fantastic. The bike was so stable, changed direction so easily & without drama, great drive out of corners and strong on the breaks (except when very heavy breaking while outbreaking people into corners, the ABS activated a couple of times, but with no real drama). The overriding impression is the stability while cranked over, with plenty of power.
I had changed the tyres to the new Dunlop SportSmarts, and they were faultless. I'm sure the stock tyres would have been fine, but I just wanted a bit of extra security (in my head !). This truly is an impressive bike, and it had many admirers today, both for it's looks and performance.

Track day - Bill gets his knee down on his Multistrada 1200

24Jun2010 - Ducati.MS member 'motocow' (aka Bill): Trackday with the Multi
Took my Multi 1200S Touring out to the track. I rode my GSX-R 750 for most of the time but wanted to see what the Multi would do. It definitely pulled harder out of the corners than the GSXR but the GSXR pulled a higher top speed on the front straight. I was tapped at about 150mph on the Multi before jumping on the brakes while the GSXR was at about 162mph. I am guessing this had a lot to do with wind resistance. I could really feel the wind resistance on the Multi even tucked behind the screen. The GSXR had a bit more ground clearance as well. Overall the Multi was a blast to ride and was actually fun passing a few guys on sportbikes. Even got the knee and pegs down quite a bit as well :-0
